It seems sensible to choose the same weekend! So new NP date 24/26th July! 73. Paul
Do you need help researching?
Hi Paul,
This event your are setting up reminds me of a similar event that took place back in January 2009 where a G/NP SOTA Fun Day was organised.
The idea of the G/NP SOTA Fun Day was to try and activators onto all of the G/NP SOTA summits and work all G/NP SOTA summits, summit to summit on 2m FM. When this event happened, not all G/NP SOTA summits had an activator on them, but most of them had an activator though. Me and my dad Tom @M1EYP activated Wild Boar Fell G/NP-007 for the G/NP SOTA Fun Day and this was a great winter walk, my callsign back then was M3EYP.
Here are the links to all Reflectors threads with regards to the G/NP SOTA Fun Day that took place back in January 2009.

I should have read the unread posts before I posted mine about the G/SP day as it would have saved me some typing ![]()
I would be interested and hopefully drag along my partner in crime (M1BZJ) to a NP summit.
Due to our operating style - multi-hour, multiband, hi-power operations we would probably go for somewhere like Ilkley/Rombalds Moor. Probably only be able to get a pass for 1 day, which would be the Saturday.
Ingleton sounds like a good choice too for me too as getting back to the M6 isn’t to onerous.

Oi. That’s my summit.
Are you sure?
As of today, yes!

Pretty sure the AZ is big enough for both of you.
Is this still going ahead I’m wondering? I’m just starting to organise a similar event for the Guisborough club on the 24th-26th July in the same area if anybody is interested in joining us.
We will be staying a local campsite, please mention Guisborough club if booking to keep us together
The Dalesbridge - Yorkshire Dales Campsite, Pods, Cabins, Lodge, Bar in Austwick nr Settle
I agree with your choice to align the dates with the Guisborough camping/ SOTA Weekend Paul.
I do keep thinking about the NP SOTA Weekend and I keep thinking that Settle would be a better base than Ingleton. Settle has more choice for eating out.
Of course, with the camping activity happening at Austwick, it’s pretty much in the middle, with Settle, Clapham or Ingleton within fairly easy reach for evening gatherings.
Seems like a bit of momentum might gather now.

We have 3 members already signed up and booked in so its definitely going to be going ahead.
All being well, I am up for this! I need to polish off some G/NP summits
will see if I can book camper on site ![]()
@MM0EFI - you venturing down? Could possibly have a mobile BBQ on site too!

Currently enjoying milder climes.
I will check the diary when we get back. Quite fancy bringing Dora the V8 Explorer to this one.
I’d like to do this one, for the hill, but more for the most interesting couple of km² of map I’ve ever seen.

Booked… (But it is possible we might be moving house so not quite 100% guaranteed)
I agree. There are also good cafes in Clapham. The problem will be having a large number of people descending on a cafe on a mid-summer weekend and expecting to get tables (unless you can book)..
The Goat Gap cafe on the A65 between Clapham and Ingleton has a larger capacity than most including outside seating.
Something more interesting than some amusing names?
The names are enough. ![]()
