These are my reports of a few of them with some route suggestions. High Willhays is best accessed from Rowtor carpark. It is nice going from Meldon reservoir parking but that needs coins for parking! I have activated Kitt Hill several times and my favourite spots are around the spoil heap at SX373715. If you follow the path to the NE from there you can find a good place to set up with short grass just where the path drops down a few feet.
Brown Willy is a bit of a slog but worth it from the parking at Poldue Downs to the NW.
G/DC-005
This is just a short report posted mainly as a way of thanking all the chasers from today’s twin activations of Christ Cross G/DC-005 and Staple Hill G/SC-004.
After recent experience of operating in winter I emptied my wardrobe this morning and looking like the Michelin Man set up on Christ Cross. I’ve previously activated this from the side of the road but today I walked along the track and through the gate in order to be within 20m of the trig point as I had posted notice of the activation o…
G/DC-006
I activated G/DC-006 Carnmenellis this morning but yesterday I wasn’t sure if it would go ahead. The reason was during the afternoon my wife and I did the 5 mile circular walk around Stithians Reservoir. All went well until we were about 200m from the end of the walk when she was simultaneously attacked by a Cornish tree root and a metal gate with sharp edges. The result was I spent a couple of hours parked outside here yesterday evening.

G/DC-007
I activated G/DC-007 Watch Croft today, the last of the 7 SOTA summits in DC to be activated by me.
I was looking forward to nice views but a sea mist put paid to that!
There are several places you can park for Watch Croft. I chose the most southerly. You can see it at the 193 spot height to the west of where the building called Dakota is in the lower centre of the screen.

G/DC-008
I activated Hensbarrow Downs G/DC-008 this afternoon, timing the activation for the afternoon for a better chance of reaching NA. I used my usual rig of IC-705, AH-705 tuner and Bandspring end-fed wire with long counterpoise.
I also packed a 10m delta loop with the intention of trying this at the end. However, I didn’t use it because yet again I got too cold! After my frozen High Willhays activation about 10 days ago this time I wore my down jacket - but I still got cold. It must be an age thin…
