Dusted off the Ten-Tec Today

Hey Josh. Just found my callsign made ur hit list…on 10m even. THANKS That is pretty much the band I always start on now. Almost always good DX there…We even sounded like we knew what we were doing. LoL

The Century 22 still sounds the best then the K2.

After chasing mostly weak signals Today, it was nice to have a QSO with Brian @N6IZ with a strong signal on 20 CW this afternoon. I am impressed that he could tell I was using an IC-706! Thanks for another QSO Brian.

I just got a ‘new’ 4-band K1. Figured I would break it in with some SOTA chasing. Thanks @AI6XG Dan for the QSO!

Here is one that some might find interesting

Chasing WW7D on W7W/CH-132. 5 watts with the K1 on 40m.

Well, look what turned up in the post this afternoon:

Thanks @KX6I @wG0AT @W7DLZ for the QSOs Today. Steve, I think our QSO is the first KH1-to-KH1 contact! Hope to get this little guy on to a summit very soon.

The RX sounds very good to my ears (especially on headphones or external speaker). The tiny internal speaker is… well, a tiny internal speaker =) Best to use headphones.

Fun KH1-to-KH1 QSO with Dave K3GX who just got his KH1 yesterday. There is also a cameo from Gary @KT0A and I demo my new little powered speaker:

I use the same speaker!

My poor MTR hasn’t been getting any love since the KH1 arrived. I figured I ought to plug the poor thing in and make sure it still works. The little speaker I bought for the KH1 works great on the MTR too.

@K9PM and @N6MKW thanks for the QSOs!

Hey Josh. What’s the name of the speaker and where did you purchase it? Is it amplified?
I may want to get one for my new QMX rigs. (high and low band models)
Tim - K5DEZ

Got it from Amazon. It is amplified and works well with the KH1 and some of my other QRP rigs. Search for “Leadsound Portable Speaker”.

Now available opaque black. Could interfere with other plugs on some rigs. If so, use right angle adapter or six inch extension from Amazon.
