Today I did two very quick 2 point activations IF39 VE6/RA-091 and Square Butte VE6/RA-031, thank to all the chasers for your patience. And to @KR7RK for another easy S2S.
To start the day at IF39 the Temperature was a balmy -18c and the service road up to the oil site had about 3" of snow once I left the road into the cut line there was about 6 inches of snow, nit to worry I quite enjoyed it except for the hidden puddles of water haha. I do apologize to S57S your call confused me I did copy you but by the time I realized I think you had enough of me asking.
From there I made my way to Square Butte VE6/RA-031. By the time I started on that trail the temperature had risen to about -11c and the jacket and toque had been removed, it’s truly amazing how much heat one can generate when moving.
I reached the summit and got myself quickly set up and called CQ with the normal suspects and the most unstressful CW S2S with Keith tnx, it was a awesome Activation. Also in both activations got Jose @EA7GV, tnx for chasing me my friend it is always a pleasure to get you gents from Spain in my log.
I decided to not do my 3rd summit of the day as my new winter hikers are not broken in yet and my feet had started getting a bit sore after all the km’s I have put on in the last week and a bit so I called it a day.
Hey, Jesse, you’re doing great! I don’t know how you can send code
in that freezing temperature! Bur you’re doing great. I’d just be sitting there shivering and trying to build a fire!

Thanks for Chasing me Gary @W0MNA ! And tell Martha I said thank you as well its always a pleasure to hear your calls and log you, especially with CS now
I’m going out again Thursday for my last activation before I go up north to work for a couple months so I hope to get you in the log one last time this year.
Thank you Jesse for the wonderful report and photos!
It looks fantastically beautiful. Here, in the Urals, the arrival of winter is slightly delayed, although night temperatures are already dropping below minus 15 degrees Celsius. And even lower in the mountains. But the snow so far lies only on the tops of the mountains …
