Wednesday 12th I’ll be operating as EA4/M6GYU/P and activating. EL Ejido. Ea4/md-057 west of Madrid which has only been activated once before. (I hope there’s no good reason for being activated only the once !)
Quite excited - and no need to dress in anything other than shorts , T shirt and carry enough water in the 35c day temperatures…..
Just had a nosey on google maps and that all looks to be fenced off. And theres a note on sotlas saying the same so that might not be worth trying unless it’s very near you.
Before you start getting on your high horses. I have written permission from the Spanish authorities to operate. Any foundation or intermediate license holder can apply. Just for clarification this has nothing to do with CEPT.
If I have time I’ll post the authorisation tomorrow. NB it’s in Spanish
Intermediates have been able to apply for a licence from the Spanish authorities for well over a year now. I arranged it via EURAO for my wife when we visited, before she got her full.
The news article suggests anyone can apply “regardless of licence class” too, but I never attempted it when Nic had a Foundation licence, only Intermediate, and the licence was issued very quickly.
Yeah, I had noted in the past that there were separate agreements/ arrangements outwith CEPT. I guess it’s totally up to the administration of each area as to whom they grant a licence to.
Andy’s point was that he wasn’t aware of any change under CEPT - and as far as I’m aware, there isn’t.
