I saw that one yesterday!
On a less cute note, there appears to be a new hobby of ‘squash the sign’ on some of the roads around my part of the world, including on the major Monaro Highway, but first noticed on the Snowy River Way.
There’s whole stretches of road where every single sign appears to have been run over by… what? Guessing a ute (pickup) with one of the big ‘redneck’ style bullbars. Why? Search me…
Hi John,
Just noticed the photo with the sign to the village of Arsié, and it reminded me of a fine wine I tried several years ago, which would seem the perfect accompaniment to whatever comestibles the village’s inns might offer the weary traveller:
It’s an invigorating little number, to be sure!
He was probably signing off.
OK, I’ll get my coat!..
Long story, but in 2012 my friend and I ended up driving through a minefield in Western Sahara.
We were on a marked track, but still not something you want to see!
“Cute”?
I grew up in East Yorkshire, about 20 miles from Wetwang. Wetwang Factoid: Richard Whiteley, former presenter of Countdown, was mayor of Wetwang (an honorary title he accepted). Another happy village name in East Yorkshire, just down the road from Wetwang is ‘Fangfoss’.
