The most important treasure that we have in SOTA are FRIENDS !

Dear All,

In coming 2024 year on January 11 will be 59 Birthday of Guru EA2IF.

To commemorate him on January 11 I will open activity as SP59GURU

Activity will last to March 11 - this is the day that Guru became SK.

Let’s remember him together by connecting on air.

I am publishing this information in long advance because I think that more people will be interested to stay on air during that time maybe also using special callsigns.
If yes, maybe the event may have at least European scope.

You all have long time to consider that.

I do not think about the award/diploma activity - I just think that as many hearts as possible would connect with the GURU at that time.

We are thinking about obtaining and activating the special event call sign DM59GURU during the mentioned period.

SP59GURU callsign was already on the air today.
Activity dedicated to Guru has not started yet, but I decided to use SP59GURU for special chasing occasion - Łukasz @SQ9JTR activated the highest peak of Tatra Mountains OM/PO-001 Gerlach.

Hi Friends,

There is one month left to initial date of SP59GURU activity.
I will print here details but today I can inform that first summit to activate will be SP/BZ-059
Number 59 is chosen for obvious reasons.

I have requested and been granted the callsign EG59GURU from January 8 to 21, 2024.
Something will have to be done with this callsign…:innocent:

From January 8 to 21, if WX permits… you can listen to EG59GURU. If it ends with /P (EG59GURU/P), will be in a SOTA reference, from different references in EA.
If you only listen to EG59GURU, it will be me calling CQ or chasing for SOTA references from my QTH.
Remember that this time there will be no paper QSL or any type of diploma.
The QSO will be uploaded to the Sota Database and any activation will also be listed in the web:
