SOTAData3 (Part 3)

Actually MM0JLA

So do I - probably much less efficiently than Andy - but I am fully retired so even cheaper :joy:
Also too tired to do the logs; knackered by doing 10 hills in 6 days. Only little ones but not all well chosen :slightly_frowning_face:

In my personal log I keep a running total of the number of different chasers of my activations and the number of different activators I have chased. These two figures used to be included in the personal statistics section of the old database display. I suppose I could update them myself but would appreciate them being calculated and displayed by the system.
Apart from those omissions I think the new display is excellent. As I have gained rather a lot of badges for progress through the award tiers I feel that compacting the display to one badge per award with a progress display as a pop-up would be an improvement - but a minor detail only.
So thanks and congratulations to Andrew VK3ARR for this first-class facility.

Hello guys

On the previous database I was able to look up statistics for a particular association, to keep track of the changes in the total number of activations per year, for example.
I´m a bit lost on the new database, since it refers only to my callsign for statistics. Facts and figures only reports to the program, in the whole.
Any ideias on how I could track of association statistics, with the new database?

Tnx

I have never see that feature in the old system per association.
Interesting.

The previous database is accessible at https://old.sotadata.org.uk
Can post a screen shot of what is now missing that may help us locate it.

A fix for this is building now and should be available in the next minute or so.

These should now appear under the relevant stats icons at the top of each Activator/Chaser stats page.

Not sure where you are referring to. The front stats page is basically just a replacement for the old My Statistics page. The Facts/Figures page is linked in the footer, but never showed per association statistics. Everything else should be close to identical but happy to look at whatever if you can show me on the old system what you used to do.

I do this operation once a year so that I can present an association update in our annual meeting, but forgot (again) how I was doing it, in previous years, and I think I jumped the gun too quick to ask for help.

In reality, there was no facility or feature on the previous database that could present me with the data I was looking for, I was simply taking the Honour rolls data and doing the calculations aside, like the total number of activations registered per year and since the beginning of the program and so forth.

I apolozige for the confusion that my request has caused, after fidling a bit around, it came to me.

With that said, I think that a feature like that, kind of a facts and figures page per association, would be a welcome addition, at least for association managers, but I guess this would be a conversation to take somewhere else.

Thanks and, again, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks again to Andrew VK3ARR for the very swift improvement to the personal statistics page which I found on return from today’s wanderings.

Would it be possible to show a “server load” on the logging pages? simple red/yellow/green light would be ample, that way if we want to log, and its under load, we can tell at a glance and choose to come back later?? makes the servers sort of self policing then as opposed to more resources having to be found?!

Just a thought like

I successfully entered an activation with over 20 S2S today. Then I realized that I forgot an entry.

I wanted to add the qso and opened the input window. All entries were there, but the summit references are missing and so are my S2S points.

After that I had to enter all refs again.

Is there a solution for this?

One small improvement from my point of view: It would be nice to show your own callsign used for submitting logs by CSV when verifying the submission. I once entered as HB9HVW (instead of HB9GVW) and only saw it afterwards in the sotamaps activation list.

Otherwise, an already excellent Web Interface has gotten ever better! Thanks to everybody involved!

Andrew I have another mystery to solve at the mapping part for you:

Name shown on the map mouse-over is (sometimes) wrong.
grafik
Not sure where Denis is coming from?

@2E0BIA is of course Martin

Other activated have their name in the profile but not shown on the map. So my guess those names are fetched from another source?

Yep I have never been a Denis…

Another issue is with the S2S Honour Rolls.
If I go to the UK (G) Honour Roll it shows the list, however if I select on my own entry and click on show details, nothing happens. If I click on any other activator I am able to view their entry.

Thanks

Martin

There’s something intriguing about that. Works on the older code for you.

Andy
Yes it worked on the old database. Hope that helps.

Martin

I can not submit the activator entry for more than two hours. Is it only me or somebody else has the same problem?

I am not having that issue.
