Six Mountains & One Bivouac

I’m glad that did the job. I’ve always gone for the thermarest style mats because they contain foam and therefore some insulation. Like everything, it’s a trade off.

I actually have a 2 season synthetic bag, however it weight exactly the same as my new rab 4 season down, so no contest there.

As for the Ti spork, I bought a couple of them as an extravegant treat before Mo and I backpacked the West Highland Way a few years back. It folds up nicely and fits in my pot, along with stove, gas and sparky thing.

Yours looked pretty good to me Colin. Mo and I have done some week long backpacking trips in the past. I carried 16 kg on those ones. So, an overnight in the hills with around 10 kg felt like a breeze. As a regular Cairngorm climber, I’m well used to the long distances that need to be done in a day. The bike helps a lot.

Cheers,

Fraser
