I’m an Apple iPhone user and been rather jealous of the android vk-port-a-log users for the past few years.
Recently I’ve been trying an open source logger for iPhone “Ham2K Portable Logger” while it is being developed. And now it’s reached a state where it is rather good, with all the features I need!
Logging is simple and intuitive, setup a summit from the SOTA DB, quick intuitive callsign entry, linked to QRZ, you can spot, check spots and click on a spot for a summit to summit. Upload to the SOTA database.
So unless your Android SmartPhone / tablet supports OpenGL ES3 - you will no longer be able to run POLO. (As Sebastian says however, check that there isn’t a software update for Android from your device manufacturer.)
73 Ed DD5LP.
My Tablet has 4GB of memory, and that is also marked as incompatible now (most likely because of the video requirements). I first thought it was a memory issue, as I have had issues before with loading SOTA data into POLO on my 3 GB LG phone, until Sebastian kindly made some changes in the code.
Let’s hope a later build will address both issues (but I suspect the new video needs will be harder to get around).
For now, an automatic update stopped what was a working program from working (the danger of having automatic updates turned on!).
