FYI: The current beta version has now SOTA Spots and Self-Spotting available.

I’ve used PoLo for my last six activations and really like it. Technically still in beta (Have to install via TestFlight on iOS) but it has been flawless.

I wasn’t aware that SOTA had been added to the spots!

I’ve reinstalled on Android after joining tester group so hopefully I’ll get the update soon.

Hi Joe,
I’d love to use the SOTA features however when I press the button to download the SOTA data (straight after a re-install as updates stopped working for me at v 0.6.1) the App aborts. I have reported this to the Discord channel as the groups.io group no longer seems to be active.

Hi Ed.

This took several minutes for me but did work without issues. Maybe there is some leftover data.
Try going to the app settings (in the general Android App Config) and select “Clear Cache”

Thanks for the suggestion Joe, but I totally de-installed and re.installed the app, so there “should not” be any data in the program cache.
Anyway, Steve is looking into it over on Discord, so hopefully they’ll find what is wrong soon.

Hmmmm. That looks very nice. Just tried it at home.

I’ve been a user of VKPortaLog for several years. This is the first time I’ve seen an app that could tempt me away.

Nice clean interface.

I like the option to keep my screen on.

Lookups in QRZ.com is handy.

That’s just for starters!

Good job folks!

That’s my update through and all seems to be working well on the Android beta release.
…

I always use paper logs on summit, but for the last few activations I have used Ham2K after the fact to generate ADIF’s for uploading. It is an exceptional app, good features and easy user interface.

… go on… take the next step and go paperless…

Hi Hi.

Seriously, I’ve been paperless logging with VKPortalog for at least 5 years now. I carry a waterproof notebook and pencil for very bad WX days but it hardly ever gets used.

This app does look like a step ahead of VKPortalog.

I’ll make a list of suggestions. Although it won’t be long as I can see very little to add.

My radio may be software defined, but my personal logs are pencil and paper and I’ll stand by that (for now)! I initially tried paperless logging when I was first licensed but struggled with the buggy clunky apps. If any app were to prompt re-evaluation it would by Ham2K. But for now, I’ll stick to the old fashioned way during activations.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to eliminate the need to insert a colon between hh and mm for the QSO start time. If I’m making a change, it’s loads easier to type 1800 vs sorting through the symbols tab for the “:”

It uses anyway the current time. There is no need to enter a QSO start time.
This would be for retrospective entry e.g. on transfer from paper logs.

That is correct, my minor critique still stands though. It is unnecessary to require the user to add a symbol when it could easily auto-populate.

Best is to open an issue on the github issue tracker of the project.

Issues · ham2k/app-polo · GitHub

This is the usual way to address such bugs/feature requests to programmers.

Can you log S2S QSOs? I could not find how to do it on the doc…

Sure you can. Either select from the SPOT list (that btw is in the beta now sorted by date - thanks to the programmer)

Or just selected the S2S button.

I have the latest beta version running. It think it is not available in the current stable version.

Yes, tab next to frequency.
The app is really working well now, going to replace using Outd Log.

Thanks, it is almost out of my phone screen
