The WX is looking good for this weekends activation. The hike is relatively short at only about 1 Km with a 15.5% slope.
There are not many trees on Ring Mt so I am planning on using the MP1 Supper Antenna. I will take the KX1 and operate on 40M, 30M, and 20M. I will have an FT-70D for 2M S2S contacts if there are any activations in CO this weekend.

Chris,
The Colorado Ham14er event runs this weekend (the W0C 10-10-10 for the next 10 days.) Though Ring Mountain is not ideal for VHF contacts to the south, you might keep an ear out for anyone activating (146.58 primary), and try a S2S. Presumably, there will be more Colorado VHF chasers listening, too. I’m going to try and do Parkview Mountain (12300 ft) in southern Jackson County.

I have been debating wether or not to bring the Arrow Yagi. I’m finishing up packing as I’m typing so I think I will take it and try to make some CO S2Ss.
I hope to see you on the air and thanks for the push to take the Yagi!
