Here’s the activation report of our announced activation of Signaal Imbosch PA/PA-006.
After parking at the Posbank parking space we had a quick and easy 30 minutes walk to the summit and set-up our station there. Weather was quite good, no rain and some occasional sunshine.
Since weight is not a huge concern on this summit, we opted to take both an Elecraft KX3 and a QMAC HF-90 with custom control software (see QMAC HF-90 “free tune” conversion | PE4WJ Blog).
After a brief set-up right next to the marker we started operating. Wouter Jan PE4WJ kicked things off on CW. Because of a “UTC vs local time” mistake in the activation announcement (oops!) we were not automatically spotted on Sotawatch, but once the QSOs were under way we had a small pile.

After the CW pile died down we switched to SSB. Wouter Jan worked the first few stations including several summit-to-summit contacts. We then switched operator to Wouter PA3WEG, who also worked through a small pile-up, after which it was Quirijn PA3FTT’s turn. Bands worked were 20m and 40m which offered plenty of contacts. After about 3 hours of casual operating, we packed up and headed down.
