Can I carry a lead acid battery instead?

Looks like a duplicate of GM4LLD’s post from a while ago :face_with_monocle:

Mine was 45kg… this one is “bijou and compact” at 3kg

Ideal for SOTA. It would be nonsensical to carry a 45kg one up a hill.

Hence trying to lose my lockdown bio-fleece… (I’m not winning HI).

I prefer to carry a photograph of mine… just like a soldier would carry a photograph of their loved one.

I think I weighed 45kg once (and only once). I suspect my SOTA days will be behind me the next time I pass through that weight. Even my beautiful, slim loved one might be slightly over 45Kg. So a photograph is definitely more practical

That might be a joke but is seriously good exercise !!

For exercise when not doing SOTA and feeling the need to have a bit of weight carrying exercise I’ll go for a walk with a rucksac with two gallon containers of water along with whatever I normally carry ie waterproof, binos, etc.,

NB. If you do try something similar do be sure you fill the bottles right to the very top - otherwise they slosh about which, for me is quite annoying.

An excellent idea. The next 10L Adblue container I get will be retained for that purpose rather than recycled. A much better solution than bricks.

My anvil is just too heavy to use, even walking the flatlands of Middle England.
