New Server

In reply to G4OWG:

I’m not on BT, but at one point I appeared to be seeing that yesterday on Virgin.

It turned out to be my Web Browser not actually reloading the www.sotawatch.org page. After using CCleaner (available from www.piriform.com) to clear the browser cache it worked fine.

Thanks Stewart - should have thought of that
Most browsers have a clear cache function without resorting to 3rd party apps though. It’s well hidden in Firefox :frowning:

Nah, you jest sir!

Tools > Clear_Private_Data and tick the items to clear. Or just hit Ctrl+Shift+Delete. Couldn’t be easier

As a Telewest/Virgin Media user, I can say that at times their DNS stinks and I’ve been using OpenDNS instead for sometime. For more info you can have a look at http://www.opendns.com. If you know what you’re doing you can change your DNS servers to Primary: 208.67.222.222 and Secondary: 208.67.220.220

To Jon,

Excellent work on the new server. The improvement in performance is wonderful and I appreciate your efforts in bringing this up. I know how hard it can be to get everything sync’d.

Yes, however Ccleaner clears other things for you at the same time and is much more configurable than most browsers. (e.g. you can get it to delete all cookies except those for specific domains - so it remembers my login details/status for the SOTA servers etc).

In reply to MM0FMF:

I have been using the opendns DNS servers for quite a while now and find them very reliable.

Jon the hover on the alert for GW/SW-041 is showing summit not recognised - but cliking it takes you to the summitinfo

That was quick - working now

Hi Jon, super job, the new server seems very fast from here. Many Thanks.

One thing for me…

The red/green

reflector
read

link on the index page http://www.sota.org.uk/ points to:

http://www.sotawatch.org/beta/reflector.php

which is a 404:

The requested URL /beta/reflector.php was not found on this server.

Thanks again, HNY & 73.
