Hello,
after a terrible rainy saturday in Roma, today Sunday was a fantastic perfect sunny day so with Luca Iz0fly we decide to go outside Roma to a have a new Sota activation. We choose the Monte Autore, an easy Summit (1854 mt) in the Monti Simbruini area, 1 hour and a half driving from Roma center. The walking distante to the top of the summit just 40 minutes so very very easy summit. On the top there was a very strong wind so we have to find the right place to setup up our vertical antenna and also setup a wire to “keep it” vertical. Radio was a Elecraft K2 (10 watt qrp) and we made 29 qso in cw & ssb using our two callsign with two S2S with 9A6CW and EA1/CT2GSN/P. The top of the summit was full of people during our activation, with a lot of funny question about our “fishing pole” and our “strange” hobby, but it’s always like this.
At the end a very nice Sota day, here are some photos of the area and of our radio setup on the summit.
