This all started because @G4TGJ said 12m had two spots on it today when I said nobody was ever on it.
Anyway, from that we now have a little club created just for fun. You can join too if you wish to!
All you need to do is get on to 12 metres this weekend and make some contacts!
Rules:
ā12 On 12: Midnight Runners Weekendā starts from, well, NOW, until 23:59z Sunday July 5th 2026 (for this but of fun, you can still join the club afterwards).
You must make 12 contacts on 12 metres to qualify (this of course is just for the Midnight Runners badge and in no way at all should be thought of as interfering with rules and regulations of the SOTA program or any other program e.g. POTA etc)
You can use CW or SSB. No FT8!
QRO or QRP. Whatever you want.
SOTA activation or chase. The choice is yours. If you are unable to SOTA this weekend, anything will do, even calling CQ on 12m.
Post your QSOās here or a QSO map as proof (if the MT are okay with this).
Be the envy of all your friends and put this swanky AI generated (hence the weird looking key) badge on your QRZ page, website, yadda yadda!
Extra kudos from everyone if you do your entire activation on 12m only!
If you are unable to participate this weekend any day will do if you would like to take part. Just seeing what happens this weekend for now but you can still join in, we can keep it going if there is interest.
This is all just a bit of a laugh to see what happens.

Please spell it metres. Iām not a pedant, but this is how it is spelled this side of the Atlantic, as well as almost every other English speaking nation.
He might have 12 meters on his 12 metre SWR master panel. After all, one meter would not be enough to be statistically significant. Knowing your SWR is vital. And yes, you and I are pedants.

EDIT: Bizarrely, had a look on some Kiwi instances there (just to see what different parts of the globe look like, depending on owner setup of course) and itās dead almost everywhereā¦except 24.891 where someone is doing CW!
Iām heading out imminently to try some QRO /M and see what occurs. Looks absolutely apocalyptic though. Spectacular backfire incoming. Ah well, I was only trying to gee up a bit of fun for something for folks to do.
Can still do the little club/badge fun any day, not just this weekend. See how it works out. Itād be a dull world if we did nothing.
Iām /m and having few issues. Lots of weak signals and qsb but have 15 contacts so far in 40mins including super strong 599ās to USA and Canada. I will try 12 again in a sec. Hopefully tomorrow i can do the SOTA on 12.
Good aul ionosphere hasnāt a clue what to do today. Probably in a daze!

Despite apocalyptic conditions this morning, a surprising /M morning was had. This was 100w CW with an ATAS and 891. Hoping tomorrow holds more favourable conditions. 12m was surprisingly the cleanest sounding band of the lot for me today. Just the one 12m QSO but I will take it.

I wasnt aware of this āMidnight Runnersā but I am afraid I am the reason for the club as I try to call cq on 12 during every activation Anyway it has been first time I made that many qsos in 12 on one day. Normally 1-2 contacts and offen I am spoted on rbn-hole but no response.
Nicely done! I was talking to someone yesterday who tried for their 12 on 12 using 100 Watts and got 4 contacts.
12 on 12 seems to be easier said than done at the minute, though probably not helped by conditions recently.
Iāll be on 12m again later in the week for sure. Hopefully adding more members to the list!
EDIT: I worked out the members page table. You can even search it once it gets more populated (letās hope it does!). Iām still tweaking the CSS and want to make more changes but I am just not very good at this stuff so apologies it isnāt very slick.
