Just a heads up I will be doing a SOTA activation tomorrow from Djouce. QRV ETA am unsure, probably between 1000z and 1100z give or take.
If conditions behave (wouldn’t take much considering how pants the bands have been in my experience the past couple weeks) I will be operating on 12m tomorrow (and other bands). Already activated this summit but I want to test a new antenna setup and know the summit already so it’s a good choice to use it and offers chasers a chance for chases, completes etc.
Proposed operation tomorrow (and tonight):
Primary Radio - IC705
Backup Radio - Elecraft KH1
HF Antenna - Le Slug Rouge / 8 x Radials
VHF Antenna - Slim G on 6m Sotabeams Mast
UHF Antenna - Diamond RH-770 mounted on IC705 directly via Windcamp RC2
Power - 10w
Modes - CW and if I’ve time SSB
Bands - 12m, 20m, 40m HF CW and SSB / 2m, 70cm VHF/UHF FM and CW
Also activating POTA IE-0136 tonight - testing my kit for tomorrow, same setup if anyone wants to try for a QSO. Might do 40w 2m FM and CW via Slim G if anyone wants to try.
I had great success on 2m FM yesterday (and a single 2m CW QSO too). Not bringing my Moxon tonight or tomorrow as it won’t withstand the summit winds and I need to refabricate it, Slim G only. Will also activate a couple more parks across the weekend hopefully.
