Thanks for the warning, they were parked in one of the crossover sections of the Drumochter dual carriageway section with the “Hair dryer” pointing over the bonnet when I went up last May. It’s one of the few sections outwith the average speed cameras.
The weirdest trip I ever did up the A9 was going to Inverness for my Dad’s funeral during lockdown, I saw about four cars and three trucks in 120 miles, but the wildlife was all over the road munching that lovely grass verge and central reservation, more hazardous than vehicles !
Yesterday I had 5 activations in 3 countries within 6 hours (for which I didn’t even need hiking boots)… unfortunately it started to rain in the afternoon, so I canceled early.

If you are going to be out and on-air at your sunset then I will prize myself out of bed early and get up Scald Law for say 0530Z onwards. I’ll take the 17/20/30m dipole and a 30-40W PA with me.
