I call them “Jedi radios” as a joke, because they have the telescopic antenna incorporated and because they are circa 1978, the year Star Wars was in the cinemas…
This is another rare example, Totsuko TR-2100M. 2 meters SSB/CW. 5w/1w.
We want pictures of your IC-202 in “action”.
Take it to SOTA and give to your “Old Rocker” some life from time to time.
I adore that experience.
Its a different way of practising Ham Radio.
No digits, all analogic… Like in the 80’s Lovely!!!
You will feel “the 4th is with you” Hi hi…
Maythe4th info already posted into International SEAN weekend thread.
Next time Andrew, next time.
The force was not strong this morning.
I think I heard Andrew about 21 for a few seconds while working someone else but then he disappeared.
Only managed S2S with @IK6BAK, @GW4BML and @M0JKS
Big shout out to the station who worked me 3 times, twice on the same band.
GB5ITH be back out this afternoon when the summit is free.
Unlike some, I wasn’t willing to get up at some ridiculous hour, so opted for a more leisurely set-off of 10am.
My report already posted in the international Sean Weekend thread :-
Was pleased to work GB5ITH (Sith) to make at least one Star Wars themed QSO.

From Mt Stromlo VK1/AC-043 propagation on 20m starting at 05:15 UTC was most unusual and very short, I worked a number of VK3 stations (500 km) all with strong signal reports. Later in the session the long path window closed at ~07:10 UTC.
I followed Andy’s spots but heard nothing while at 06:52 UTC I heard @GB5ITH at 5-1 and returned my call multiple times.
Propagation to New Zealand, Germany and Switzerland produced 5-8, 5-7 and 5-6 S2S with Simon @ZL1THH at ZL1/AK-023, Stefan @HB9HCS at HB/FR-049 and Lutz @DL3SBA at DM/NW-223 respectively. Stefan and I worked each other on 20m followed by 17m SSB.
45 QSOs on 20m and 4 on 17m all SSB, countries worked; New Zealand, Spain, France, Poland, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, UK, US, Sweden and Slovenia. Across VK; VK1, VK2, VK3, VK4, VK5, VK6 and VK7. ZL chasers plus John @VK6NU were stronger on 17m.
I didn’t operate on 40m, I was enjoying a good dose of Dx fun
No Eastern grey kangaroos today, so no enhanced skip!
Thanks all chasers! May the force be with you!

During my activation on DM/RP-322, there were repeated rain showers…
The bands were quite quiet… on 10m (28.380 MHz), ZS6LZ was clearly audible on ZS/NW-001 (51-53)! He called CQ for a long time… I called back for a long time … but unfortunately, I wasn’t heard. There were at least two sporadic E QSOs afterward.
I didn’t hear anything from ZS5APT and ZS5AYC.
May the HF-force be with you - Armin
Great to get the S2S with you Peter, especially on 23cms, that was my first contact on that band from a SOTA summit hope you enjoyed your activation, look forward to the next qso!

I didn’t hear anything at my end. I was running 75W on 20 m, which is why the battery went flat after 30 minutes and I had to use the spare.
Thank you for the DX and Europe QSO’s from the summit Hohe Molmert DM/NW-223 yesterday.
My rig was a FT-891 with 50W output and a 2*9,2m, up&outer antenna for the first time on such an event. At previous DX-events I have always used a high mounted inv.-V-dipol. The vertical did a good job and is quicker to set up.
At the summit with a view to Nordhelle DM/NW-204
and the shack.
