Massif Central in France

Last week I was in Spain because of the ultimate challenge for my youngest daughter:

She survived her first Iron “women”.

Coming back, I couldn’t resist F/MC-027:

Access has never been so easy: just take the train (15’ electric rack railway). On foot it’s 10,7 km - duration: 3hrs.

On the top, on 09/10/24, wind gusts of 70km./hrs…

I’ve made 7 QSO’s (14 Mhz.) in +/- 15’ (QRP 5w. - Icom 705 / Atas 25 - no radials - mounted on a wooden fence). I’ve forgotten an antenne support at home…

It’s a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site. The remains of a Roman Temple, the scientific discoveries in the 17th century, the aviation challenge in 1911, the wireless transmission from this place in 1923, meteorology and astronomy today: you have the feeling being on a very special place!

:+1:but I’m a little disappointed-I thought you were going to say how the position of the planets & the signs of the zodiac affected propagation eg I’m a Capricorn-should I do better on 20m rather than, say, a Gemini??

The Auvergne is definitely worth a trip.

An impressive summit… with a great view.

Unfortunately I was a bit too late to chase you… and would it have worked at 20m? - I’ll just do the complete one another time. :innocent:

I will definitely go back to spend a whole holiday in this beautiful region. Looking at your activations I still have many summits to go!
