Yes, no problem. No need to use the USB-C port at all if you just want fast charging via the KX2’s external DC jack. You’ll still need a hole in the side panel though, unless you are prepared to desolder the USB-C jack ![]()
Booo, where is the fun in that ![]()
KXUSBC2 boards have arrived here in Durham I’ll be putting the first one together this evening and may attempt an installation video into my KX2.
The side panels are lagging behind with a projected delivery date of Thursday.
In short, to put it another way, to have an easy-to-use, universal and state-of-the-art charging option for the KX2’s internal battery, without needing any further bells and whistles ![]()

One might argue that the state of the art calls for USB-C ![]()
Thanks Manuel @HB9DQM for all the work on this, and Neil @G7UFO for making them easily available for the lazy to buy ready made in the UK! Ordered.
Only downside is I wish I hadn’t bought the reassuringly expensive Elecraft module on the justification that I’d be using it for the rest of my life ![]()
reassuringly expensive Elecraft module
Sell it before the word gets out about the new superior boards!
I’ve definitely not being taking pictures of the board I removed earlier… ![]()
Any chance to have a shop/seller having it at Friedrichshafen? Or will you be around Manuel @HB9DQM ?
