Today Myself and new ham Ian VE6HAX met up at one of the few drive up summits we have here in VE6, to test out his set up and get him his first Sota activation.
Needless to say it was very successful, a couple of local chaser where waiting on 2m for him and as I wrapped up my CW activation we set his equipment up and got him calling CQ on 20m ssb with his 705. 15 minutes later he had a few contacts and a S2S.
He is hooked so Job complete everyone! After I quickly threw my paddle into the 705 and quickly called cq on 10m as my MTR4B doesnt have it and I got Chris @F4WBN and @EA2LU thank you both, those are my first two 10m DX activation qso’s.
Anyway Welcome Ian VE6HAX to Sota and I will be bringing him out again.
