How to turn SOTA log to a story? I've made HAM QStOry

Hi,

I am YT3MD, and I always needed a tool that will make a story of my activations, so just yesterday I started www.yt3md.com to test log to story converter. It’s free, without ads and log never leaves your browser. There is an option to make PDF of the story with pictures, they also stay in your browser.

I would really appreciate your opinions and suggestions, I’ve made it for myself, but it could be used as gives much more from the log thank just a map.

Feel free to comment and suggest, and I hope we meet each other on the air.

Hi Duca,

That’s amazing what data you can pull out of an ADI log and format it nicely in the report.

Can I ask you to look at processing the path function when it exists in the ADI file?

In my test file, I have a contact into VK which has the tag <ANT_PATH:1>L in it, but on the map, the short-path route is shown.

Sure, thanks for the suggestion, that is all about, we do it together, would look into it today.

Thanks a lot.

Ed,

Changes were made, I’ve mentioned you in the thanks section, if thats not ok for you, just send me message to remove your callsign.

Thanks a million.

Also, some improvements were made in the section: If this was contest log… that shows some data on the timelines, propagations, antenna suggestions and such… Feel free to try it.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your contribution.

I like this. Especially the If you drove your car and met those in the log personally and the random facts!

Very clever and once I submitted the station log instead of the SOTA log, even more into came out. Excellent work.

Thanks Andrew, I appreciate your feedback.

I tried my full log, saw all the details, and therefore introduced the ruler on a top to choose some part of it.

Glad it can be helpfull.

Thanks, Duca,

That change worked perfectly - here is the revised map that I got:

I “think” your system may be the ONLY system that handles the long path correctly and plots it on the map.

PS, no problem with my call sign being listed on your website but it’s you who is doing the work, not I.

I “think” that my system is the only system that handles the long parh correctly because of your contribution.

Hi again Duca,

I have two more requests.

Would it be possible to include the contacts direction piece (this is as it appears on the web page):

in the PDF report and…

Number 2, perhaps you could add a link on the website where people can send you small gifts to cover some of your hosting costs etc.?

Ed, first part is done, good idea, I also liked that chart a lot, now is in pdf by default, close to clock, and if you choose to have “if this was a contest log…” then it goes in on the position like on the page.

For the second part, it really touched me, but I thought, if you do want to make a contribution as a small gift, check in your local club if there is someone who could be in position that small gift would be valuable for him, and say him that the gift is from me.

Thanks amillion, your message really means to me more than you can think.

I’ve made a lot of changes and added a lot of new stats, check your SOTA logs to see it.

All the best, 73

Duca,

Thanks for a very interesting tool!

I entered my recent SOTA (and WWFF) log, with 101 QSOs.

A suggestion, if I may:
In the section on “How your antenna radiates”, the slider only goes to 10 m. Could this be increased, to say 15 m?

I acknowledge that this may be high for a typical SOTA operation, but I will often toss a line over a tree branch to haul up the centre of the doublet. At my last activation, the doublet centre would have been at 15 m.

Many thanks,

..hi Duca, can you look at adding vhf/uhf eg 2m and 70cm. The log file for down load for wwff is csv. What can I do to change it to adi?

Geoff,

All ham bands are there, even the analisys on satellites and meteor qsos so it works on 2m and 70cm, and for csv, I will make it possible later during evening, no problem.

Just need to get home from job

Thanks for the remark, I consider that a valuable contribution, can I add your callsign in Thank you section on a bottom of the site?
