The region of Molln is located just at the border of the National Park Kalkalpen and can be reached via highway A9 (Exit Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn) and via Leonstein on B140.
From easy hikes to 1000+ m ascends to the summits of the Sengsengebirge there are plenty options for everyone to participate.

Local activities for friends and family that are visiting with the activators:
Whoohoohooooo, I have been waiting for this information about coming September meeting
Room booked, alert for Saturday posted, I am starting to count days
SOTA Norway has its annual meetup 13-15 September. Saturday 14th we will use the callsign LA1SOTA from Blåhøe LA/OL-067 , (1617m asl). This is a drive up and we will set up vertical with 100W in a tent. On the same day, members of SOTA Norway will activate a number of summits in the vicinity, using the member’s personal call sign. We look forward to S2S with OE stations (and others) 14th of september
The wx really is bad but I have suggested to still meet at the restaurant and have a fun meetup. Also chasers, guest and everyone interested in SOTA is welcome to join.
I am on way (close to Czech, Germany and Austria border lines meet up) and on Friday should arrive to Gasthaus Klausner where I have booked overnight.
I hope no flood will be by my way.
See you Friends and I will keep fingers crossed for 3 x MG activation of Joe
The forecast for Saturday is for torrential rainfall. If the weather is as forecasted there might be floodings and mudslides in our area.
I have changed my alert to a summit closer to home. This will give me a warm shower and change into dry clothing before heading off to the meeting at Gasthof Klausner.
Also, fingers crossed for Joe’s 3x MG activation! Don’t get drowned!
Same here … i will decide on short notice if I do the activation on Saturday (depending on how extreme the rainfall is). If I do the activation I will probably take my tent and bivybag with me to keep me warm and dry.
EDIT 13.09.: Cancelled my activation!
I will definitely attend the meeting in Molln in the afternoon …
I changed my alert twice: first to Spadenberg that I activated 2 years ago on OE5 SOTA day but later I found that expected temperature is about zero - problem is not me but my Summer tyres on the way to parking of Spadenberg.
That is why I will try to activate lower summit with more easy access.
Today I activated in DM & OE.
Tomorrow I am not sure due to Friday 13th is in Poland treated as day of bad luck …… so, may be I just will drive to Molln
Really bad news about the weather. I had alerted for Polster, but I have cancelled and will stay indoors where it is warm this year. For the more adventurous types, there are still a few summits with acceptable shelter from the elements in OE6. These include:
