A total of 52 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc using 2-3 w and
Inv-Vee & 5m.
On the last band change from 14 Mc to 7 Mc by mistake only the links from one side of the dipole were connected (one leg was 10m, and the other one only 5 m). Even with this Random Off Center Dipole without antenna tuner and output of 2 W, five QSOs were made (with S51RU, S51XT, OK2QA, ON4CAP and LZ1CF). I received excellent signal reports. Maybe I invented a new SOTA antenna - hi.

A total of 45 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc including 3 s2s with S53X/p, S57XX/p and S57X/p, using 2-3 w and Inv-Vee & 5m.
Today, as well as my 7 last activations of Z3/WM-046, I used to climb the summit walking the complete distance from my home (not to come half way by car). A minimum of 1,5 to 2 hours are needed to reach the summit, a and 1 hour to descent. The a.s.l of my home is 250m and the summit is 1066m (800 m difference).
The activations took an average of 5-6 hours of outdoor activities.

A total of 46 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc, using 2-4 w and Inv-Vee & 5m.
Vlado, Z35M
A total of 39 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 Mc , using 0,5 - 4 w and
Inv-Vee & 5m, including two s2s with S57XX/p and S51ZJ/p.
Tried CQ on 14 Mc but without takers.
The QSO total for 33 activations only from this summit is 2300, all on HF, single activator.
For period of less than one year summit of Krstovar 1066m, Z3/WM-046, has the highest QSO total outside of UK (ranked around 13 place world wide).
Vlado, Z35M
A total of 102 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc , using 5 - 7 w and
Inv-Vee & 5m, including 6 s2s with HA2VR/p, OK1DSX/p, DJ3AX/p, OK1DDQ/p, and OE5EEP/P from 2 summits.
The ISW brings more chasers than usual.

Note: The summit info of Krstovar, Z3/WM046 is frozen on 31. activation !?!
A total of 83 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc, including 3 s2s with S57XX/p, HB9AFI/p, and OE8GBK/p.
RIG: K1 running max 4 W into Inv-Vee at 5 m, powered by small 800 ma 12 V battery (2 h on the air - 9,6 ma / QSO).
Vlado, Z35M
A total of 30 CW QSOs were made on 7, 10 and 14 Mc in poor conditions, including 1 s2s with S57XX/p.
Managed to made the 2500. QSO only from this summit.
The summit of Krstovar - 1066 m, has the highest QSO total WW from the summits higher than 1000 m.

First activation of Titov Vrv, 2747 m, Z3/WM-002, the second highest summit in Macedonia. The ascent lasted close to 4 hours, and descent 3 hours. The group climbing allowed only 30 min of activation on 40 m and 30 m.

Gratulations, Vlado, well done!
What a pity that you did not participate in the July IARU Region-1 V/UHF (ex “Polny Den”) contest … I did! Based on the photos Z3/WM-002 must be an UFB location for VHF operation… I have 596 QTH #s on 144 MHz but still always miss KN01 square, where Z3/WM-002 is located!
Thanks for the QSO and new summit!

Hi Joska
I agree with you that this location is excellent for VHF but I’m exclusively HF operator.
Vlado, Z35M
In reply to Z35M:
Yes, Vladom it is KN01JX based on the geographycal coordinates specified in the summit database.
You may have a look at this in order to confirm it: QTH lokátor - térképen
Sorry for my being multiple-addict as I started my HAM carrier at HG7KLC operating at 2m in 1968…

For the first time I tried pedestrian mobile on HF.
A total of 20 CW QSOs were made on 14 MHz for 1 hour, running 1 - 7 w into wire vertical with one radial.

My highlights of the past weekend:
On 20.11 2010 achieved 3000. personal QSO from my 48 activations only from summit of Krstovar, Z3/WM-046.
On 21.11 2010 for the first time activated one of the most attractive summits in Macedonia, Ljuboten 2498 m, Z3-WM-010.
The bad weather on the summit restricted me to only 15 minutes on the air (23 CW QSOs on 14 Mc - thanks to Ogi, 9A7W for spot). I apology to chasers who expected me on lower bands. This was a group climb and nobody liked to stay longer on unpleasant weather conditions (except me - hi).

The first activation of summit of Kitka, 1568 m, Z3/WM-035 on 28.11 2010.
More than 4 hours of climbing with the group. Only 11 minutes on the air resulted with 10 valuable QSOs on 30 m.

08.12 2010
The first activation of summit Ramno, 1651 m, Z3/EM-006, some 40 km North-East from Skopje.
Damjan, Z35BY joined to try his first SOTA activation and made 25 SSB QSOs on 14 Mc.

Some of the latest Summitsbase statistics positively surprised me when I noticed that my favorite summit of Krstovar, Z3/WM-046 (1066 m a.s.l.) is on 2. place in the world, both from chasers and activators points of view related to the number of registered QSOs.
With only 58 activations so far (end of January 2011) and a total of 3256 QSOs all on HF, this summit for sure has the highest average number of QSOs per activation (56) among the top scorers.
