Planning a weekend of activations in VK3. Remains to be seen whether I’m being overly optimistic. I’m hesitant to add them as Alerts, as I’ve been hopelessly inaccurate in the past. I will have an APRS tracker, so you can see where I am (VK3OHM-7). Plan is:

VK3/VU-002 Mt Wombat
Sunday 14 Feb
VK3/VN-015 Mt Hickey
VK3/VN-012 Mt Mitchell
VK3/VN-027 Mt Gordon
VK3/VN-030 Mt Strickland
Will be operating 5W on 40m, so hopefully you can hear me.
Post the alerts. If you get to 'em great, if you don’t it’s no big deal.
If you change order or miss one just be sure to announce your summit reference frequently until spotted and then everybody will know where you are.
I don’t understand the reluctance to post Alerts. They are not a legal contract which will result in world wide vilification and a lawsuit for not turning up within a few milliseconds of the alert time. They just indicate a plan. And are readily and conveniently visible on all smartphone apps, saving the trouble of navigating to the reflector (here) or to the email group just to find what are essentially Alerts! (but without approximate times).
