Summit info problems

Is anyone else having problems getting summit information. For a few days now when i select info I get…

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘80.175.28.112’(10060) in e:\hosting\member\g0hjq\sotawatch\summit.php on line 194

Sorry if I should know about this problem.

I’ve seen this effect on the main database site; SW2 has been OK though.

In reply to M1MAJ:
Can you give me the link to SW2 please so I can try that?

In reply to G0HIO:
www.sotawatch.org, but is that not what you are using for the reflector anyway?

In reply to M1MAJ:

Yes but I thought I may be missing something. Thanks Martyn.

In reply to G0HIO:

Hi Mike,

Would it be possible for you to give me the exact URL where you experience this problem?

Many thanks & 73,
Jon

Hi Jon
It happens on any summit i request info from. for instance nw001
SOTAwatch3 gives me the following:-

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can’t connect to MySQL server on ‘80.175.28.112’ (10060) in e:\hosting\member\g0hjq\sotawatch\summit.php on line 194

Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in e:\hosting\member\g0hjq\sotawatch\summit.php on line 195
but some of the info is shown. I have to go out for an hour or two now so I may not respond.

Thanks mike g0hio

In reply to G0HIO:

Ah, ok.

You seem to be using the old Sotawatch.

I have no objections to this but it is no longer supported and is probably coming apart at the seams in a number of ways.

The equivilent page on SOTAwatch2 is here: http://www.sotawatch.org/summits.php?summit=GW/NW-001

Incidentally, I have not been ignorant of the views expressed by one particular user as to why they prefer the layout of spots on the old sotawatch.

I have made a mental note of this and will try and get back to the one spot per line format at some point, or at least have the option for it. Watch this space.

Ok Jon, the link you have given me
http://www.sotawatch.org/summits.php?summit=GW/NW-001 takes me to sotawatch2 and is working fine. But when I select the database from this page I end up back on the old page
SOTAwatch3 so I cant stay on sotawatch2 for some reason I haven’t worked out yet.

Mike

In reply to G0HIO:
Mike set your link to SOTA as http://www.sotawatch.org/
and bookmark and use this from now on. Hopefully this will solve your problem

Ok Jon, the link you have given me
Hiking in the mountains: tips for beginner hikers - Mountain Day takes me to
sotawatch2 and is working fine. But when I select the database from
this page I end up back on the old page
SOTAwatch3 so I cant
stay on sotawatch2 for some reason I haven’t worked out yet.

I have this problem too. I think that the database pages (URLs starting
http://database.sota.org.uk/ still refer to http://sotawatch.sota.org.uk/
when you follow e.g. a “view” link, so my guess is that whatever generates
those pages needs to be taught about www.sotawatch.org.

Caroline.

In reply to M3ZCB:
Yes Caroline I agree. No matter what link I cut and paste I always end up in the old database. Odd.
