Thats good your CQ got spotted because the RBN cannot read poor morse. Your morse must be OK!!!

Are you sending faster than you can copy? General etiquette is that you don’t send any faster than you can copy. Others will usually slow down to the speed you’re sending at when they reply.

No idea how it is for others, but the top speed I can copy varies depending on how long and complicated the overs are. For the usual SOTA exchanges I’m ok at up to 18wpm or so (and quite a bit faster for RST), but if someone decides to send me back their life history then I’ll not get it all unless it’s a fair bit slower than that. For activating I usually call somewhere between 12 and 15 wpm (depending on the wind and weather, and how awake I’m feeling).
