After our summer holidays in my wife’s birth land EA1/CR area, we have driven back to Pamplona today. It’s a nearly 700 Km drive and this is the route we followed:

For the 4th year in a row, I took advantage of the 2 drive-on SOTA 6 pointers being very conveniently placed at each side of the A6 highway right by the borders of the provinces of Lugo and Leon with an asphalt road up to the very top.
>Por cuarto año consecutivo, aproveché 2 SOTAs de 6 puntos accesibles en coche que están muy convenientemente ubicadas a cada lado de la autopista A6 justo en la muga entre las provincias de Lugo y León con una carretera asfaltada hasta la misma cima.
First summit on my way from West to East is Chao da Poza EA1/LU-010.
I set up attaching my fishing rod to the fence surrounding the telecomms tower there.

My alert was for a start at 8h30 utc and an operation on 20m CW and SSB but I finally decided to include 40m CW too. I started on 40m CW and got spotted by RBNHole by 8h42.
After 40m CW, I worked 20m SSB and finally 20m CW. This is the log with 30 QSOs:

After a quick pack up, we headed for the second summit.
>Después de recoger rápidamente, nos encaminamos a la segunda cima.
I had raised an alert for the 1st summit with a start time at 8h30 IIRC and a second alert for the second summit with a start time at 10h30 utc. The first activation was perfectly spotted by RBNHole but I knew RBNHole would probably spot me with the first summit reference if I started CQing on the second summit slightly earlier than 10h30, because that would be within the +2 hours of the 1st summit start time.
In order to avoid any conflict with wrong spots, once I finished my first activation, I deleted the alert and left only the one for the second activation.
> Había puesto una alerta para la primera cima con una hora de comienzo a las 8h30, si no recuerdo mal y una segunda alerta para la segunda cima con una hora de comienzo a las 10h30 utc. La primera activación fue perfectamente anunciada por RBNHole pero sabía que RBNHole probablemente me anunciaría con la referencia de la primera cima si empezaba a llamar CQ desde la segunda cima ligeramente antes de las 10h30, porque estaría dentro de +2 horas de la hora de comienzo de la primera cima.
Para evitar cualquier conflicto con anuncios erróneos, una vez terminé mi primera activación, borré la alerta y dejé solo la de la segunda activación.
This strategy has proved as very successfuly because I didn’t get any wrong spot from RBNHole due to possible overlapping times between both activations.

After a short drive of around 10Km, we got to the second summit Mt do Curisco EA1/LE-191 and quickly set up attaching my fishing rod to a metal pole conveniently placed slightly away of the telecomms tower at the top.

Again I started on 40m CW and got perfectly spotted by RBNHole by 10h17 utc.
I followed exactly the same sequence of my previous activation: after 40m CW, I QSYed to 20m SSB and finally 20m CW.
This is the log with 25 QSOs, one of which was a S2S:

After this very enjoyable SOTA pause in our journey, we continued our drive and finally got home in Pamplona safe and sound after a great summer holidays with plenty of SOTA activity.
