4 m band in OH

#1

Probably due to the digital terrestrial television the 4 m band became available yesterday in Finland. There are some restrictions close to LA, SM and RA borders and to the eastward direction, where it might still be used for analog TV. For the international status see

In practice this does not mean too much for SOTA, since I did not have much success on 6 m or 2 m bands before and it will be hard to find anybody to talk with at these VHF frequencies in the Lapland.

Summer SpE is worth considering. I’ve had a number of 6m FM contacts into OH over the years and if the determination of 4m enthusiasts in the UK is anything to go by you’d be a prized contact on 4m especially from a summit.
