There used to be some third-party tools that could do the download via screengrab, but generally, I think you have to pay YouTube a subscription to have the download feature. Has yours run out, perhaps?

Not sure about downloading videos but you can enjoy a ‘marketing-free experience’ if you accidentally on purpose temporarily relocate to Albania.*

This works well for downloading YouTube videos: GitHub - yt-dlp/yt-dlp: A feature-rich command-line audio/video downloader
Another way is to use the Grayjay app. This gives you access to a wide range of apps and allows you to save files locally.

If you are on android use newpipe or grayjay apps.
If you are on your “big" computer you can use yt-dlp although you need a degree in being a nerd to use it.
