Yaesu FTX-1F, a new QRP rig! (Part 2)

Indeed. I’m primarily after a rig that will fit in my small shack, something with the footprint of an IC-7300 (+/- a little) that will let me use CW (and SSB where necessary) on all bands from top-band to 70cms. For portable use I have a QMX, a KX-3 and an 817 which is a bit beat-up and temperamental but may get pressed into use thanks to the Challenge, unless I can track down one of those small transverters. I wouldn’t rule out taking something like an FTX-1 or IC-705 out occasionally. :wink:

I have, however, got a little used to having a pan-adapter in the shack. That kind of function can sometimes be fudged via some computer application or other, up to a point, but that would push the IC-7100 a bit lower down the list… :man_shrugging:
