I know it’s a long shot, but does anyone happen to have an MTR-3B or MTR-5B sitting around that they’d be willing to part with?
I recently sent my MTR-3B in for service, and LNR Precision actually did an amazing job with the repair – they were super helpful throughout (albeit a bit slow). Unfortunately, the ultimate failure was entirely on me: I accidentally sent along the wrong external switch (which looked physically identical), and it ended up shorting out and frying the MCU. I’ve reached out to see if I can get the updated firmware flashed onto a new chip so I can attempt a rebuild, but I know they are swamped as always.
The MTR-3B has been a grail radio for me and saw a ton of use. While I’m really enjoying the Currahee, I’d love to get a 3B or 5B LCD back in the rotation. If anyone is willing to take pity on me and sell me theirs, I would be eternally grateful!
I’m in California, so probably only CONUS sellers would work well for me given our current import situation.
