Wild fires affecting some GW/NW summits

If you are planning activations in north west Wales in the coming days you may wish to look for updates in the news or on the North Wales Fire and Rescue website.

The main summits that may be affected include
Tal y Fan - GW/NW-040

Rhinog Fawr - GW/NW-023
Rhinog Fach - GW/NW-078
and possibly others nearby.

Rhinog Fawr ( I think) burning today. The smoke cloud was hanging over the Llyn peninsular. Photo taken from Morfa Dyffryn.

I could smell the smoke from the Clwydians today. Corwen was on fire last year and we could see the orange glow.

Has anyone been near Gw/nw-040 - Tal y Fan recently?

Can’t see any problems over that way John, nothing seen when I drove that way yesterday.. No local reports of any issues.
