This is a great little video about Steve, WG0AT.
This is a great little video about Steve, WG0AT.
It is a great video. As an avid chaser I feel honored to have Steve in my log several times. My days of hiking the mountain trails and paths have long passed. I live vicariously through the videos and adventures of the avid SOTA activators. Thank you for being out there.

He was my first SOTA contact, back in 2011. Even got an award about Mt Herman 50 contacts, which now has a sticker upgrading it to show 200 contacts, mostly with Steve.
This video/story depicts the way Steve is doing his activation’s in a pure, unfiltered fashion. The full process is in the shots, with beautiful wide shots (even of Pikes Peak) but also in almost 8 minutes: the lovely wildflowers and animals in that part of the front range are seriously well depicted. The handling of the KH1 and the wire over the fallen tree are (at least for me) SOTA in one of the purest forms. Thank you to Steve, not only for showing us how to be the best at our “game” , but also that at “80+” it is still a rather healthy physical exercise! Also a big Thank you to Brian for taking time to shoot and produce this great Video. 73 and dit dit, With “doei doei” from The Netherlands!
Very nice, Steve!
Now we all know how you look up there on Mt. Herman. I’ll have to check and see how many times we’ve worked. It’s a lot!

Well done, Steve. A very eloquent description of why we do what we do. Always a pleasure to hear your call.
Stay well & 73!

Great to see Steve again hard at it.
He was my first ever knowledge of SOTA on a YouTube about the IC-703 radio I got second hand and did a search for You Tubes about that rig. Must have been around 2010 I ordered my KX3 in 2011 got it 2012, 6 months later to be ready for SOTA to start in 2012 here in vk5.
Thanks for the video regards to all

Wonderful cameo. It is my wish to be as active as Steve is, and with his healthy mind-body attitudes, when I am 80. Congratulations Steve WG0AT!
Fabulous video and really worth the watch.
Steve’s (@WG0AT) own YouTube videos were definitely a huge initial influence on getting me into SOTA 10+ years ago.
Love Steve’s baseball cap….wore the same when I became MG July 2017.
The Hermanator in action!
Pat, thanks for sharing the video with us. I think many of us resonate with Steve’s words about what SOTA fulfills for him.
