Hi Chris,

Couple of “snaps” from your video. That summit is the only one i managed to activate in the UK in 2016 and I recognised the wall near the trig point. Then Mike called you and of course I recognised his voice. It was Mike who drove up to Leeds and took me to NP028.

Hello Andrew,

Mike is a good guy and although we have had some QSO’s I got to meet him on a HEMA summit last year. G/NP-028 Rombalds Moor is 14km line of sight from my home QTH and my closest Summit.
Shame I forgot the HF antenna as I was looking forward to doing 40m & 20m SSB.

Its not the first time that a handheld has saved me a wasted journey to a Summit.
I really should make a check list helping make sure that I don’t forget anything.

There and many that have had wasted journeys, some that I know in person.
Hope you enjoyed the walk though.

Thanks Geoff. Shame that I forgot the Linked Dipole as I was looking forward to doing 20m & 40m SSB.
It was good to be out though and there will be other times.
