There is way more to do in Las Vegas than just gamble at the Casinos. The Cowboy Trails located just west of town offers some high quality technical trails for an avid MTBer. As luck would have it there is also a pedal up SOTA summit just a quick pedal over from the top of the ride. I had both a good day on the bike and on the air!

I have been to Vegas many times and never been to Vegas, I rock climb in Red Rocks, next time I am taking my radio gear.
Nice! Those trails look even better than say La Costa for Denk Mtn!
“Don’t operate here!”
We visited Vegas as part of a wedding party in 2014. Somehow we managed to pack a tent and camping gear along with my full Highland dress and Mo’s outfit. The day after the wedding we picked up an SUV and headed over to the North rim of the Grand Canyon (1000’ higher and zero people) and then spent an amazing week hiking the Utah canyons and slick rock trails. Best holiday ever. Apart from the Vegas bit
Following Alex Honold has made me realise how much good outdoors stuff there is to do near Vegas. So, we’re looking forward to our next trip (when someone gets married obviously).
It was still closed when I visited the South rim. It was shorts and T-shirt weather in L.A. and was snowing at the South rim. I think I had all my T-shirts on at the same time to try and keep warm!
Pack your bags, Fraser. People are getting married in Vegas all the time!
“The Marriage License Bureau does not schedule appointments for marriage licenses. The Marriage License Bureau is open 365 days per year including all holidays from 8 a.m. to midnight PST. It takes about 15 minutes to issue the paperwork.”
I’ll hope for an S2S when you get there.

Thanks for taking us along for the activation, Bill!

The Cowboys Trails are a really a good set of MTB trails. I think it would be a good hike (seasonal) as well. If I was gonna hike to that summit I would go up Bomb Voyage to Ridge and then onto the Summit. On the way down I would take the Bob Gnarly for a different perspective.
