VR2 / Hong Kong

Has anyone experience in getting a VR2 / Hong Kong reciprocal licence ? I’m a UK full licence holder (HAREC/CEPT).

Doesn’t look like much SOTA activity in HK, and I suspect the licence needs a fixed location…

The VR ARM has some info to start you off…

Saw the first ever VR2 activation (my) yesterday! Things are looking up, literally and figuratively

Thanks @VK4TJ, good to see ! I’ve been I’ll be able to get a license to at least double it!

From memory there are issue with importing radio equipment too, so having a license and being able to use it are potentially different things.

Things have obviously changed. Getting radio gear was just a question of walking into one of the thousands of outlets selling them and haggling over a price.
When I got my licence, it was a simple matter of turning up with your paperwork at the correct office. HARTS (Box 541) was the place to go to overcome language issues and local resources.

Just looked at the VR association map. I wish SOTA had been a thing when I lived there. Sadly those days are just a memory. Getting to HK-001 would also have been an impossibility, even though I spent hours of my life up there
