VO-060 activity

Hi All

I made a quick 40m CW QSO with Andre F5AKL/P on VO-060 at 0714z on 05/07/08 before I left my QTH for the weekend. Others worked the station then. Later Andre reappears on the bands and there is a comment on SOTAWatch that the early activity may have been from a pirate. Could Andre or anyone else confirm this for sure, so I can delete this QSO if it was a pirate.

In reply to G4OBK:

Hi Phil

I worked the same station one minute after you and he was 599+ which appeared to be far too loud for conditions at the time.

I then worked Andre at 0914 and he was the usual 559 from France - and he did not say “worked B4” so I reckon the first one was a pirate.

In reply to G4SSH:
I think that Andre will confirm.

I worked him also and got 589; he was 599 here in Reims.
This is not usual because between Reims and VO-060, 40m is not possible (possibly 229…no more).
Andy is back home; he will confirm soon that he started at 07:55 on 20m, then made 20 QSO on 30m and after that went on 40m.

Thank you Roy and Alain for info. I will scrub my QSO.

I like your films Alain - plenty of chuckling in the shack watching your work. On the latest I like the way the callsigns hurtle onto the screen in the pile up, a really graphical way to display what happens when SOTA Fever on CW is happening!

Best 73, and may be see you on wednesday; I will be on VO-053 & VO-054

Hi to all,
Sorry for ma late answer.
Thanks to Alain F6ENO who has given you the good info.
Sorry Phil, Roy, Alain and the 2 or 3 others: NOT IN LOG at this hour !
It was not me saturday at 0700 UTC, because I was still on way.
I’ve began at 0755 UTC on 14.057 with G4EBO (the only one 20 m QSO).
Then: 20 QSO on 10.118 from 0807 UTC to 0842.
Last: 24 QSO on 7.033 from 0902 UTC to 0929. Then QRT !
The most lucky is Roy G4SSH who has realy QSO me at 0916 UTC on 7.033.

I’ve not camera, so, I can’t make films.
But I effect a QSL with photo. for each summit. You may see them on http://www.sota-france.fr
with the following link:

My two last summits (F/NO-042 and F/VO-060) are not still realised.

73 QRO to all,
Many thanks for your reports.
QSO are more pleasant in the nature.
