A bit late as this activation has happened back in August but I finally managed to edit this video.
The last activation of three in this series is a summit is called Spielmann OE/KT-287 at 3027m.
A bad wx forecast for late afternoon motivated us for a timely start in the morning. Enjoy views of sheep, mountain lakes and the alpine scenario of the Großglockner area.
Gear as usual: FT817nd with J-Pole for 2m and Vertical Upper-Outer for 20m
Nice one Joe and Alex…I want to ask a stupid question if I may. I see you both in shirts even at the summits and yet there is snow nearby, my question is what sort of temperatures are you working in please ? All the very best to you both.
Congrats Joe!! nice video and great activation, I would like to visit that place, the views are amazing, once again congrats!!
I’m looking forward to hear you on the air.
72. Manu.
Thank you for the nice comments. Definitely a hike to recommend in that area in summertime. Mid August is best to avoid snow.
Hope to hear you on the bands.
Joe, I enjoyed watching your movie. As always, the nature of the Alps, the route of ascent and the moments of activation of the summit are well shown in the radio amateur air. Thanks!
P.S. What video editor are you using?
I think there is free version (SpotOn edition) available to try it.
Videos and picture are recorded mostly in 1080p 30 frames/sec on a DJI Osmo Action Cam with enabled image stabilisation. In addition pictures from my phone.
For audio I record the QSO on my Android phone using an open source Audio Recorder App. Editing the audio then in the free tool Audacity.
There I duplicate the snippets to new track, then run the normalize filter for all tracks so that both my voice and QSO partner are having the same volume. Then merge the tracks, run the “truncate silence” and export to wav to use in video editor.
Honestly audio editing takes most of the time in the process.
