Ah, yes, that looks familiar, though I’ve not seen it in summer before.
The Longmynd ponies gave my car a good licking / chewing a few winters ago, when it was covered in road salt.
And they look so innocent!
When Paul G4MD and myself activated the SOTA summits on Islay back in May 2013, we got consent to park at a farm to gain access to GM/SI-072, GM/SI-077 and GM/SI-099. The route would involve walking along a vehicular track for part of the way and I had hoped we would be allowed to park nearer the hills as it was going to be an extremely long day. However, we came to realise that had we been allowed to drive to where we would like to have parked, then my car would probably have had several dents in it on our return. Highland cattle were all around the track.
In 2016 on Mull, the cottage we rented was situated within a walled area. We were told to ensure the car was inside the walled area and the gate was kept shut. The morning after we arrived we awoke to find the property surrounded by Highland cattle. Most times we went out activating we had to drive carefully through the herd… stopping to open and shut gates on the track to the cottage was an interesting experience.
Fortunately I was on hand to supervise these hungry youngsters’ access to my boot at the bottom of Aye Gill a few years ago. No damage (to car or ponies).
