Congratulations to Paul, VA6MPM on achieving Mountain Goat on June 17th, 2023. Paul is an active mountaineer, doing hut warden duties for the Alpine Club of Canada, and has taken to SOTA with enthusiasm. His skills and interests are clear, as he has activated many peaks along the Continental Divide in the Main Ranges of the Rocky Mountains. He travels frequently and has been able to make SOTA activations in several countries and associations.

Congrats on your achievement Paul! You really did this one the hard way, with a lot of very challenging high-point Rockies hikes in the mix, and your resulting photo collection has really got some attention for SOTA in VE. I encourage readers of this thread to check the article Paul wrote about Rockies SOTA in the January/February 2022 edition of “The Canadian Amateur” magazine, published by the Radio Amateurs of Canada.
I’m really sorry I could not join the party on your Goat Day, couldn’t even chase, since I was inside a mountain when you were on top of one! But I can add add one of the pics from your big day, courtesy of the gang who were there. Looking forward to activating with you again, but it has to be a hill that this old Goat can manage!
