Last week while in the Lakes, I activated

The drive up to the start of the summit was via some narrow lanes.
Not a bad walk up to the top.
At the summit I decided to go with 2m only and put the mast up and rested it against the rocks and wedged in place with another rock.
Spotted and made 7 contacts. Had my first SOTA to WOTA (Wainwrights On The Air) contact with G8CPZ who was on LDO-112( Bigland Barrow)
Also had 3 more S2S contacts.

This was an interesting walk up. Trees had been felled and no real obvious route up. Following the route on my phone took me pretty much up the hill. Some bits I had to avoid and make alternative paths around the trees.
I stopped mid way for a breather at the next logging lane and pondered the next route up.
The shortest appeared to be straight up but that was muddy, lots of tree routes and not that safe IMHO.
I followed the logging lane and took an easier route and onto a mountain bike track.
Following this up to the top made it a lot easier.
I forgot to take any pictures of the hill. Coming back down I followed a mountain track back down which was a lot easier than scrambling over tree roots etc.
I activated this hill on HF. 17 contacts, with one S2S (CT7/DL8MEK/P on CT/ES-002 and my first USA contact - KC1NDQ on 20m.

The last hill of the day.
By the time I got here, I needed a brew. I had some water with me which was OK. But a coffee would have been nice.
When I arrived at the hill I was surprised to see a lady in a coffee van. Coffee and cake 
The lady was local to the hill and was trading with coffees and cake.
£4 later I had fresh coffee and cake

Again I decided to activate on HF. 9 contacts and again KC1NDQ on 20m.
After coming back down the hill I was happy see the coffee lady still serving. More coffee and cake was had before driving back to the hotel.
