Estamos planeando subir a algunas cimas para aprovechar a hacer algunos S2S!

I guess that on this occasion the lower bands will go into night mode early and stay there as the eclipse wains and the sun sets. Far too many trees here to get a good view so I’ll probably spend the time on the radio!
Its taken a bit of digging in my logs, but I have operated on 2 and 70 in a few partial eclipses and never noted any difference. The deepest coverage was an 84% in March 2015, the others were all less than 50%. I wouldn’t expect any change in a total eclipse but monitoring a few beacons would be useful.
I wonder if that gives the possibility for aurora like propagation? The abstract only mentions fading not enhancement.
Other thoughts - EME? Probably nothing useful because you’d be pointing almost at the sun.
Would the localised shading and re-illumination produce anything in the E layer or troposphere? Probably the wrong time of year and day to see anything significant.
There will be an extra grey line (or grey zone) with the usual one not far behind. Would anything fun happen where the two meet?
I think this is probably the best thing, or even running WSPR during the eclipse and see where you get picked up.
Here is my measurement of the 2024 eclipse over the US, along the propagation path towards Ireland. The amplitude of the 24 kHz NAA Navy transmitter in Cutler showed a noticeable change during the eclipse.
