I plan to be QRV by 09:30 UTC and will start with 40m either around 7.031-cw, or, if very crowed, on the low end on the 40m band, around 7.002-cw. If time and weather permits, I will also operate on 30m and 20m (10.118-cw, 14.060-cw).
I will only carry a CW rig with me (SOTA GoBox with @HB9BCB 3-band EFHW with traps), so unfortunately no chance for SSB or FM.
In order to maximize the chances for both a successful activation and working all chasers,
1. Please QRS 12 wpm +/-
2. Please give your call sign twice.
3. Please spot me!
The time is approximate, but I think I will be on the summit between 09:00 and 10:00 UTC.
I am back safe and sound, and the activation was a success! I will write an activation report and submit the logs as soon as possible.
Just a few quick things:
The route was way more challenging than I had anticipated (with 2 - 3 parts being UIAA II+ climbing and most of it UIAA I with lots of loose rock, mud etc.), and the weather was not as stable as predicted, so my time on the summit was limited because I did not want to meet rain, thunder and lighting on my way back. I do know by now why the summit had not been activated before.
Unfortunately, signals on 40m were not as good as CONDX parameters would suggest. Maybe the 40m trap of my EFHW detuned. I could not work @SP9AMH even though I once heard his call sign.
Some of the QRO crowd of chasers in the pile-up was, what shall I say, … challenging.
Anyway, many thanks to all chasers - more shortly!
