Very sad news … one American and two Austrian climbers are missing and presumed dead following an avalanche on Howse Peak (VE6/JS-039).

Lama and Auer were two of the most talented climbers in Austria … R.I.P.

I read that last night. May they RIP. Its high avi season in the Canadian Rockies while the valleys are in spring weather mode. Some mountain resorts are still posting high fresh snow on their media sites.

What was feared in the last days has now now been officially confirmed. All the three mountaineers were killed in an avalanche on Howse Peak.
