The thirteenth annual SOTA lunch (private) will be held at the San Ramon Marriott, 2600 Bishop Road, San Ramon, CA, at noon on Saturday, October 11, 2025, during Pacificon. We will be on the South patio outside the Bishop Grill, the only restaurant, as before. Access to the patio can be had by going through the restaurant or by walking to the extreme South end of the side parking lot. There is a burger, pasta and hotdog stand just outside the front door leading into the lobby, and they recommend you buy something there before noon, when the line gets long. Cash only. I’ll provide a few sandwiches for those who indicate at the time of RSVP that they are not into burgers and suchlike. I’ll also arrange for free beverages near the table. You must be a registered SOTA chaser or activator to attend, but you do not have to pay for Pacificon if you are not attending any forum presentations. Wear a name/call badge. As always, we will be joined by an Elecraft founder. Who wants to reserve a seat?
The Forum schedule includes sessions on Elecraft at 10 am and SOTA at 4 pm, that same day.
Planning to attend, would like to include my daughter if possible. She’s been on every activation to date and she’ll be taking the Technician class at Pacificon that day, so not yet technically registered SOTA.
I don’t know how tight it will be for space, but It looks like due to a soccer game we will likely be arriving on the late side (close to 1) so if anyone didn’t get a spot please give them ours, although if still possible we will pop in when we arrive!
I’ll mention as a proud dad, my daughter is now KO6KZO and officially registered, with a single CW chase to her name so far
We dodged a bullet with the weather. Sun expected Saturday and Sunday, followed by plenty of rain early in the week.
