OK, so this chap isn’t activating summits (leaving the HF radio behind is acceptable but not taking an HT for a quick tickle on everyone’s favourite bands 70cm and 2m is downright deplorable!), but Christ on a bike it’s some effort doing every P600 major in the UK and Republic of Ireland!
Apparently only 7 people before this chap had recorded doing every single P600, the record time being 11 months. This guy wanted to do it in a realistic time of 10 weeks but wanted to do it quicker.
His legs must be the size of freeway on-ramps. Unreal.
Looks like it is the first of a multi part series of videos. Could maybe excuse him if he was too tired to record moments in-between summits!
Now what he should have done is taken an HT for everyones favourite deluxe hyperbands, 2m and 70cm, and called on every summit. Mountain Goat in no time!
I can fully see that. Lot’s of extra work and focus needed.
Turbo Goat on 2m/70cm would be granted for sure. But I guess one would need to mobilize some chasers also to be checking early morning and evening. But for sure doable with a small HT and battery recarge inbetween. If only one would be 20 years younger - hi…
Just watched the video. I wonder if he encountered anyone activating one for SOTA? Ive climbed two of the P600 summits Yr-Wyddfa Snowdon and Carnedd Llewelyn. Dont think I’ll climb them all let alone do two in a day! Oh to be young again and have a bit more energy!
