The last of the winter bonus G/WB hills

The last of the winter bonus G/WB hill for me today. I tackled the last two remaining 2+3 hills I had left in G/WB land.

G/WB-002 - Brown Clee Hill

I parked at the entrance to the Estate road, being careful not to block the gate, and took the direct road up the hill and its quite a climb.! Following the sealed road to the top and up to the comms tower.
I had a go at activating on 2m and 4 contacts and then moved to 70cm due to the interference from the mast. 70cms was much better
4 on 2m and 4 on 70cm.

Looking back down the approach road

One of the old buildings

View from the top

G/WB-004 - Titterstone Clee Hill

Parked at the top car park (the one with all the puddles and pot holes…)
Met 2E0D?? - I can’t recall the call sign, but he was out with his son for a walk around

From the car park I aimed for the big hill and walked up the grass/well trodden track to the first level and then walked up behind another old building and then across the top to the trig point.

Got setup with the mast and 2m antenna.

First in the log club call sign G5CH from G/CE-002 and then got another 4 S2S contacts.
Overall managed 8 from the hill. Not bad.. Packed up and heading back to the car.

You can just spot the SOTA Landy parked up

G/WB-018 - View Edge

I parked up on the road, tucked in by a gate and swing gate into a field. No one around to chat with. I pressed on, and up the public path to the top.
A quick chat with a couple out walking and I got setup.
Not much to say for this hill, no photos.

2m FM got 4 contacts which was a struggle. But with 4 in the bag, job done and off to the last hill.

G/WB-015 - Callow Hill / Flounders Folly

Parked at the entrance to forest path and walked up. The track has two options, a longer and not as steep climb or, a shorted climb but steeper. I chose the first option.
Plenty of mud to contend with. Followed the path to the top and again, 2m FM was used to start off with. This got me 1 contact and that was a struggle. Switched to 14mhz and made 3 more with 1 being a S2S with YO5MCM/P

Coming down I decided to take the steeper route down. Which is basically a straight line from top to bottom. This took me 5 mins or so to descend and another 5mins or so back to the Landy for a fresh brew.

Cheers

Thanks Kevin. The weather was better than I expected and photos are just a point and shoot jobbie.
I think the trig point one on Titterstone will become my teams background picture.
